Important Information:
Biopsies should be scheduled by arrangement with Ms. Christie Swett, x4-1264 or Mr. Bernard Collins, x6-8444 in the Immunopathology Laboratory, Warren 5, x4-1264 and should be performed between 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, if possible. At other times, contact the on-call Pathology Resident (x6-2967 or page x6-2241). Advance notification of at least 24 hours is desirable. Personnel from the Immunopathology Laboratory will come to the operating room, procedure room or clinic to pick up the specimen. The Pathology requisition form should indicate the precise study to be done, if possible (e.g., examination for specific immunoglobulins, for specific hormones, etc.). Usual result time: 24-48 hours. For detection of circulating autoantibodies, such as anti-glomerular basement membrane antibodies, anti-BMZ antibodies, anti-intercellular antibodies and ANCA antibodies, see these individual tests.
