Important Information:
Lymphocyte surface markers can be detected on frozen sections of most tissues except bone. Specimens for lymphocyte immunoperoxidase studies should be sent to the Frozen Section Lab with a request for “Lymphoma Work-Up”. Remaining tissues should be sent to the Immunopathology Laboratory, Warren 5 (x4-1264).

Immunoperoxidase stains can also be performed on cytocentrifuge smears from fluids (effusion, CSF). Specimens should be sent to CYTOLOGY with a request for “Smears for Immunoperoxidase Stains” accompanied by pertinent clinical history and differential diagnosis.
