Results
SUPERSTAT specimens receive immediate priority and are called back
by request to ordering locations. All specimen refusals and corrected
results are also called back to the location of origin or ordering
physician.
Critical Values
Criticical values are called to the ordering location or physician
in accordance with the MGH Critical
Values policy.
Specimen Refusal: Specimens will be refused if
not in the proper tube or container, if the volume is inadequate,
if the sample is unsuitable (e.g., hemolyzed, too old, clotted plasma)
or if requisition is incomplete/inaccurate.
